[Bangkok] Night Cruise at Chao Phraya River

There are lots of choices for the Night Cruise at Chao Phraya River , Chaophraya Dinner Cruise, Loy Nava Cruise , Chao Phraya Princess Dinner Cruise, Horizon Cruise, etc,. We can see others cruises during the voyage. Some cruises are bigger than us, some are smaller. Some are with Rock n’ Roll music, some are for dancing, some are with live band, for Horizon Cruise, I think it is high class and romantic.

We have booked 2 outdoor seats by email before we came Bangkok. The price is B2300. As we have Golden Circle award point. We redeemed the loyalty point to USD 50 cash voucher. We paid around B600 excluded drinks.

In this first day of our trip of Bangkok, we choosed to use cruise to understand the environment of Bangkok by Horizon Cruise operated by Shangri-la Hotel.

We took off at Saphan Taksin BTS station, we saw the road sign of the Hotel once we at the ground. It is quite easy and convenience. We first went to the Business Centre to handle the voucher and then check-in near the pool, then went to the ferry at Pier 21. As we used some time to handle the voucher in Business Centre, and there are some distances from the Business Centre to Pier 21, we were the last 2 guests to get on the cruise.

The waiter arranged our seats at the left hand side of stern. Welcome drink, candle, and a card with our name were placed on the table already. It is quite romantic to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary on this romantic cruise.

For the food, the big shrimp, mussels, Sashimi are very fresh.

The fruits and dessert were also with high quality.
For the hot dishes, I liked this BBQ ham the most.

I have searched the route for this crusise in the internet but no result, but now, I finally know the route! After departed from Shangri-la Hotel, the cruise will go north, we can see the Temple of Dawn, Great Palace, Wat Pho and U-turn at the “Ringbow Bridge”(Rama VII Bridge). Although the scene are not too attractive (cos it was quite dark ), but the environment are still great.

It was quite busy on the cruise during the 2 hours ride, ate, took the food, took photos, sightseeing, facebook...

The cruise returned to pier at 9:30pm. We had walked around in the hotel.

After that we walked back to Saphan TaksinBTS Station. Pls be noted that Saphan Taksin station has only 1 platform! Both to S12Bang Wa and from W1 National Stadium are at the same platform. So, pls be reminded to take a look before get on the train.
